Winter Wonderland

We had 4 inches of snow yesterday, followed by rain and ice last night, topped off with more snow today. It is really beautiful (from inside my warm house!). We still have our power too! All of Jason's family is without power, so we are counting our blessings.

For those of you looking for an adoption update, I don't have much to tell. We have decided to fly over on Delta so our flight schedule will be Louisville to Cincinnati to JFK to Kiev. Other than getting that booked, we are doing plaster work in the kid's room, buying long underwear for the trip, and other miscellaneous items. I don't know that it's really sunk in yet. After a year of waiting we are finally going! It just doesn't seem real! Ask me again the week before we go!

We have lined up a house sitter for while we are gone. We have someone that is able to stay here full time, so that is a blessing. I will post again when I have something fun to share.......

Travel Date

PRAISE THE LORD!! We got the email this morning - our travel date is February 22nd. Woo Hoo!!!!! I have already been in touch with the travel agent. I don't have any details yet, but we are so excited.

Check out the new Weather widgets I posted on the sidebar. We can track the weather in Kiev. Just keep in mind that they are 7 hours ahead of Louisville time.

And now for our prayer list:
- Oh Lord, great revealer of secrets, give us wisdom. Guide us right to the child(ren) you have set aside for us.
- He knows who they are....even now, begin to soften the hearts of the SDA official from whom we will get our referral, the orphanage director, and the judge we will work with.
- Prepare us to be good parents, the right parents, exactly who these little ones need!

James 1:5
"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."

We are claiming that verse. We lack it. We need it. Lord, please give it to us liberally!!

All I want for Christmas

I saw this posted on another blog and it really touched me. I pray for our kids every day. I can't wait to meet him, her, them??

From Steven Curtis Chapman's "All I Really Want For Christmas"

All I really want for Christmas is someone to tuck me in
A shoulder to cry on if I lose, shoulders to ride on if I win
There's so much I could ask for, but there's just one thing I need
All I really want for Christmas is a family

All I want for Christmas is someone who'll be here
To sing me happy birthday for the next 100 years
And It's okay if they're not perfect or even if they're a little broken
That's alright, 'Cause so am I

`Cause all I really want for Christmas is someone to tuck me in
Tell me I'll never be alone, someone whose love will never end
Of all that I could ask for, well, there's just one thing I need
All I really want for Christmas is a family
