Then he went back to school and we had a big SNOWSTORM and a day off!!! He was really happy. We were looking out the window at the snow and he said, 'Thank you Santa for snow!' I told him that God sent the snow - not Santa! He thought that we were going to have Christmas again, since there was snow. He couldn't believe we have to wait an entire year for Christmas again. The sadness was quickly alleviated by his first snow sledding experience. It was great! We went down to the big hill at the park and when I sat on that sled with him and looked down that hill my first thought was - I am too old for this! We really flew down the hill. I don't know if Daniel or Mom had more fun! The next day Pop was on deck for sledding and I was able to get some pictures....
We are having such fun. It seems like each new day brings a new adventure. Daniel is doing fantastically well in school. We are so amazed at how smart he is. He is still testing us and standing in the corner as needed. (and whoa - what a stubborn streak!) He's not perfect, but neither are we. We're figuring this parenting thing out as we go.
He has picked up a bit of a stutter, but we're hoping that will fade away over time. I read that 2 or 3 year olds will often pick up a 'psuedo stutter' as they are learning to talk. We are hoping the same applies as he is learning English and it will not become a permanent thing. Over the break we had our follow up evaluation at the International Adoption Center and they were very pleased with his progress - physically and developmentally. He is a bit behind, but has made great strides and everything is on track.
